Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Account info: name, email, and password (handled by our authentication provider — we never see or store your password).
• Profile info: anything you choose to add — bio, title, location, phone, industry, chapter, photo.
• Business & content: business listings, services, resources, reviews, and link-in-bio pages you create.
• Payment info: membership payments are processed by Paystack. We store the payment reference and status, not your card or Mobile Money details.
• Usage info: basic activity like event/course registrations, needed to run those features.

How we use it

• To provide the platform — your profile, the directory, events, resources, and dashboard.
• To send transactional emails: welcome messages, password resets, event/course confirmations, payment receipts, and membership renewal reminders.
• To keep the platform safe — moderating content and enforcing our Terms of Service.

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run The Hut, each only accessing what they need to do their job:

• Supabase — hosts our database, handles authentication, and stores uploaded images.
• Paystack — processes membership payments (card and Mobile Money).
• Resend — delivers the transactional emails listed above.

We don't share your information with anyone else without your consent, except where required by law.

What's public

Depending on your profile privacy setting, your profile may be visible to the public or restricted to signed-in members. Business listings, resources, and events you create are visible to whoever the feature is intended for (e.g. the public directory, or members only).

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies required to keep you signed in and to protect the platform admin login. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies.

Your data, your choices

You can update or remove most of your information yourself from your dashboard at any time. To request a full account deletion, contact us and we'll remove your data within a reasonable time, except where we're required to keep records (e.g. payment history) for legal reasons.

Children's privacy

The Hut is for people 18 and older, per our Terms of Service. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform grows. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date above.
